I finished another swap block. I think this is my favorite one so far. (Do I say that everytime?)
This is Lone Starburst by Six White Horses. How fun!! I don't use batiks very often but I really love these blue and aqua colors.
Miss Moose made another appearance the other day. My hubby is a home brewer and he was cooking his grain and he heard some strange noises. I was in my sewing room and I could see the moose walking back and forth in front of our house. I went downstairs to see what she was doing and she was sniffing the garage door!!!!! Hubby had it open a crack and she had her nose on it. Poor hungry baby!! She started to walk away.
I opened the garage door and....
She says, "Why yes, I would love to come in for lunch." I had to close the door so she didn't try to come in the garage. I don't think she would have fit through the door very well.
She is NOT eating any of the grain that might have spilled on the snow!!!!
Don't moose have the funkiest legs?
Time to work on my Farmer's Wife blocks. Then I have to go to bed early tonight cause I have to get up early (3:30am) to go to my new job. gurgle, maybe I should have thought this over more. Naps will be my new best friend.

Farming a Few
A couple more Farmer's Wife blocks.
#54 Kitchen Woodbox
This is the second one have done of this block.
#55 Linoleum
This was a pretty simple block. I wanted to add a bit more brown to some of my blocks for balance.
I've still got a long way to go! As of today, I have 65 blocks done of the 145 that I need. King sized is so big!!!
These lovelies are being cut up for my Granny Squares quilt. Yes, that is Vintage Modern that you spy!!
I started today at my new job at the gym. Lots of computer to learn but I think it will be fun. Very part time and free membership for me and the hubby!!!
I am going to do a few chores to try and warm up and then do a bit of sewing before making dinner. It was -10 this morning. Where is spring? Are you not sharing with me?

A Finished Project
Yah! I finished the Clapotis for my Mother in Law. She took it home with her on Sunday so I hope she likes it.
I ran out of yarn towards the end so I had to do the frantic search for more yarn. I found some but it was a bit lighter than my starting yarn, but I worked it in so you can't really tell.
Of course, my Mother in law would not let me take a picture of her with it on. She hates having her picture taken.
Wollmeise Twin in Nazar Boncugu.

A Little Bit of Pie
Wednesday was Pi day so I made a pie.
It was not the most gorgeous pie ever but it had a nice rustic feel. I got the idea from The Pioneer Woman cooking show. I tape that show and watch it during the rare times I am home alone. I just made my regular pie crust, put in some of the pie filling I had canned last fall, sprinkled on some cinnamon and a few dots of butter and baked it.
It was a hit and hubby suggested I make it again for when we have company for dinner tonight. Sounds good to me, it is so easy!!!
We have been working on the laundry room. Yesterday we went looking for floor paint. Overwhelming!!! I need to do a bit more research. Some of the paints say you can't walk on them for 6 days. Ummm, we might be naked by then. And... I saw glitter and sparkly paints at Home Depot. These must find a way to be used in the laundry room!!!!!!!!
I also had a helper with the laundry this week.
Meet Miss Moosie. Please excuse the dirty window as there is no way I can get out there to clean it yet. I'm not sure that she was much of a help but she kept giving me the eye as I was folding clothes. I was moving very slow because I didn't want to startle her and make her kick the window. A flood in the laundry room is enough, a broken window would be awful!
And the ugly thing is the background is my ugly greenhouse. LOL Which I can't even get in at the moment. Some years I have started plants in it on tax day. Not sure that is going to happen this year.
I have a bit of free time today so I am sewing a swap block. Then I have to start on dinner for my company.

Thrifting Thursday
Look what I found!!!
Just kidding. I found nothing. Nothing that wanted to come home with me anyways. Just a headache. I'm not sure if that was from the physical therapy this morning or the thrift store.
But... the pretty thing up there is my new mixer. It was a husband present. He saw that I had put it on my Amazon wish list and bought it for me. Even though he thinks it is ugly!!!
It is such a pretty Tiffany Blue. I haven't used her yet, but I will. I packed my red one away in the box that this one came in and will let one of my girls have it when they move into an apartment.
Not too much has been happening in my crafting world. I've had meetings and more meetings, parties, meetings, physical therapy and TAXES. Ugh!! I have two more pieces of information to add and then I will be done with the horrid thing for another year. I always say that I am going to have someone else do them but then I hate to send $300 for something that I am perfectly capable of doing.
I have made a few hexipuffs though.
Twenty nine new ones. The box is overflowing so I need a new stop to store them.
Ok, back to the taxes and then to do a little work on the laundry room before dinner. With all this extra light we are getting you would think I would get more done!

A Swoon By Any Other Name
Yah! I got my Swoon block fixed. It was a quick fix and it would have been quicker if I would have ripped out the right seams. Sigh. I always get so excited and then do silly things.
I am glad that I was not the only one that had a hard time finding the mistake.
I finished another Swap Block. I have two more to make for March. I am sticking with my star theme.
This is the Star of Mystery from Fresh Lemons Quilts. I love all her star blocks. This was foundation pieced and went together super easy. (I double checked it for mistakes.) This swapper wanted jewel tones. I didn't have any of that type of fabric so I made a little quilt shop run. They seem pretty jewel toned to me, do you think so??
The jar is getting full!
I have some of the cutest fabrics in there. I want to start on the Granny Squares so bad, but I am making myself have control. But it is so hard!! I have been hearing that some people are having problems with the bias edges on the triangles of the background fabric. I've never had trouble with them before but I've never dealt with them on such a large scale. I've seen templates that you can use to cut out the triangles. I've also thought about cutting my strip on the bias and then when I cut the squares into triangles, the triangles would not have a bias edge. Any thoughts??
This little guy came to live with me this week.
My other rotary cutter was behaving badly and trying to randomly chop off my fingers. And you can see by the fuzzles that I have been cutting some fabric, not my fingers. I had another spare but it wasn't as cute as this one. This is the color I have been loving lately. I have my eye on a mixer in about the same color. I little bit icier and greener. Love it!!!

OOOPssssss and a Baby
Oops! I didn't even see the mistake until I downloaded the picture.
haha! Gotta go fix that right now!
I also made another baby gift this weekend. This time for a baby boy.
I embellished some burp cloths and
made a little baby hat.
A little update on my leg. I am waiting to get into see a neurologist so they can test and see the extent of the nerve damage. It doesn't hurt much anymore, just gets tired easily and aches.
We had a beautiful, sunny day yesterday. The sun actually had some warmth in in. And a giggle to go with this picture. Soccer practice starts today for my daughter. It is going to be May before they can get outside!!
Time to go fix the Swoon block.

Farming on a Friday
More Farmer's Wife blocks!!!
#53 Jackknife
I really like this one. When I first look at it, it looks like a star and I think stars are my favorite type of quilt block.
#54 Kitchen Woodbox
I promise the color choices looked better before they were cut. Oh well, it is a block done. This one was super easy to put together.
I have two friends who are having babies soon. I wanted to make a few things for them. I started with the girl baby!
Baby legs!! Oh the cute. I used Sunshine Yarns Classic sock in Southern Plantation. Perfect baby girl colors.
I just cast on tonight for a baby boy hat. I am not sure about the Baby Legs for a boy. What do you think?
Time to get working on that baby hat. Want to have it finished before the baby gets here.
