Finished!!!!!!

My Color Affection shawl is finished!!!  Yah!
I used Sunshine Yarns Classic sock to knit it.  Such nice yarn.

And just because I always get goofy...

What you can't see in this picture, is my cat.  He is racing around like a crazy man, jumping at us, jumping at trees, falling over, tearing off again.  We were laughing so hard at him.  He gets a little silly when it is windy.

Now I need to make some Progress on my Camp Loopy Project!

A Spring View from my Sewing Room Window

This is the view I see today.  It was very sunny this morning but those pesky clouds are coming back again!
Things are starting to green up a bit.  You can just barely see my broken fence that we got from a crazy windstorm that knocked one of our neighbors trees across the road.

While I was in Anchorage for my daughter's State Soccer Tournament (they placed Third, by the way.  Best that a school from our region has ever done.), I sewed a little on my Grandmother's Flower Garden blocks.

I saw one in a quilt shop this weekend and they had not used batting in it.  Is that common for this type of quilt?  Not that I am going to be finishing it anytime soon.

My Camp Loopy swatch was spot on!!!   My plan is to cast on later this afternoon.  Yah!!!

Happy Memorial Day and Happy Crafting!!

Camp Loopy

Camp Loopy starts May 27th.  I am so excited!  It was great fun last year and I'm sure it will be just as fun this year.
My yarn has arrived and now I just have to decide what pattern I am going to make.

The yarn is Madelintosh in the color Tern.   I like both Folded and Buckwheat.  I think I am leaning towards Folded but I will see what I am thinking next week.
I want to make both eventually.  I think my eyes are bigger than my knitting stomach!!

My Color Affection Shawl is coming along nicely.  This weekend might be the bindoff.  I was so excited the other day because I thought for sure that I had knitted two inches on the border.  When I measured it, only 1 inch!!!!!

Today is my daughter's Championship Regions game.  She is so excited!  They have made it to State this year no matter what the outcome of the game today.

And I will leave you with this little sign that I bought for my laundry room.

Happy Crafting!

Soccer has Eaten my Brain!

Don't get me wrong, I love that my daughter is in sports.  But soccer season is really crazy!  She has had two weeks with games almost everyday.  Whew!  Adding that on to my schedule meant something had to give.  And mostly it was my sewing.  I haven't touched the poor machine in weeks!!
Only two more weeks and then no more soccer... for a year.

An update on my Color Affection shawl.  Every once in a while I have knitted a few rows on it.  It's an easy knit so even if I was tired I wasn't too worried about messing it up.

I made another block for my Swap Quilt.  It is OK that I made one for myself, right??  I want it bigger than just the few blocks that I got from my friends.  I might have to think of a creative way to put together the front.

I made the one on the top left, but I can't for the life of me remember what it is!  I made it several weeks ago and I meant to write it down but....... didn't happen.

Sasha  to the rescue!!!!!  It is the Ribbon Star from Fresh Lemons Quilts.  Thanks Sasha!!!

Are you ready for Camp Loopy?    I have my yarn and my pattern sorta picked out.  I can't decide between two.  You should join us!!!!  Come to the Dark Side!!!

I am taking a little break out on the deck, it is gloriously sunny here today.  My face is all numb because I had a temporary crown put on today.   I don't want to leave the sun.   I was still wearing wool socks just this weekend.  :)

Back soon!!!!

Crazycakes!

That is all I can say.  Things have been wild around here!

Soccer season has begun.
Last week I went up to Anchorage for a game.

What a gorgeous drive!!!

This was at the intersection where you decide if you are going to Anchorage or Seward.
It was nice and warm for the game and I only wore a shirt and my Cold Gear Under Armour.

Tuesday, this week, the team went to Homer.  I had a root canal that morning, so oldest daughter and I decided to go down a bit earlier and do some shopping.  If anything should be an excuse for some retail therapy, it is a root canal.

Yarn shopping anyone????  Yes, this is Homer's yarn shop.  :)

Only in Alaska!!!  Sadly they were closed for the day.  But true to Homer style, the owner saw me looking in the window and told me they were closed because she was dyeing yarn that day.  And did I want to help??  I would have if the game hadn't of been in 20 minutes.
We went to a clothing store and also a home decorating store where I wanted to take everything home with me.  I did get a cute sign for my laundry room.
Looks warm out, huh?  Lies!!!!  By the end of the game I was so cold that I had all over body shakes and my teeth were chattering.  Not the best thing for a new root canal.  I had on several layers and two blankets.  My fingertips still stung the next morning!!!!

Next post will have a tiny, tiny amount of crafting.  I promise!

Happy Crafting!!!
