Good morning! I have a few minutes before I have to meet with my trainer so I am taking a break from the housework to do a blog post.
Sadly, I have not touched my sewing machine in what seems like forever. The little bits of time that I have had for crafting have been used to work on my Camp Loopy Project Three. I am making Fiia by Suvi Simola. I hope it fits. This is the third sweater I have made for myself and both of the others were huge. Huge like they could have fit Godzilla. I am using Lorna Laces Worsted in the colorway Dusk. I haven't even taken a picture yet! I am working on the sleeves. I made a mistake last night (I knew I was too tired to be knitting) and I couldn't figure out what I did wrong so I had to rip out the sleeve.
In other knitting news, I entered two projects in our local fair.
My Cladonia got first place in the shawl/scarf section.
And my Hedera's got first place and Division Champion. I was excited!!
Fall is coming here fast and it is pouring down rain this morning. It woke me up about 5:00 a.m. I planted some nasturtiums in hanging baskets this year and they still look good. Most of my flowers are starting to die. We have had some overnight lows in the 30's. Next year I plan on planting all my hanging baskets with the nasturtiums. It will save me a bunch of money, which is always good!

Slow Down, Summer!!!
By the amount of posts you can tell how busy I have been. It seems like everything is happening at once. After September, life might slow down a bit. I miss my sewing machine!! I have only made one block since my last post and no hopes for another one until at least Monday.
I did finish my pair of socks for Camp Loopy, Project Two. They are the Taglioni socks over on Ravelry. Boy, I was ever glad when these were done. Cables, cables, cables. I used Three Irish Girls and this yarn is so soft and squishy. It is on my "buy again" list.
I found these cute little jars at one of my local Thrift Stores. This was only my second trip to this store and I found it overwhelming!!! Soo much stuff. These jars were $6.95 for the set. Not sure what I am doing to use them for yet, but I thought they were super cute. And blue!
Today hubby and I are taking a few projects to the fair. He is entering some home brewed beer and I am entering two knitting projects.
Time to take the goodies to the Fair.

FWQAL Week Seven
Hello!! It feels like time is flying. Does school really start in a little over two weeks? I can hardly believe it! Our weather is really starting to feel like fall too.
The baby had her 16th birthday on Friday. Her driver's test appointment was at 9 am and in less than 15 minutes she was a licensed driver. She got a perfect score on her driving test. She was headed to work in this picture. She has been driving herself to work and volleyball tryouts. Feels really strange to me. She had her three best friends over that night and they played board games and generally goofed around.
She and one of the girls had spend hours making these party hats. I loved that they were all such good sports and thought the hats were great fun!
Block 13 Buckwheat
Some of the seams aren't perfect but I am okay with that.
Block 14 Butterfly at the Crossroads
Not perfect either!!! I used Fig Tree's new Butterscotch and Roses fabric. I ordered a layer cake from The Sewing Shack from etsy. Since all of the Fig Tree fabrics have the same tone, I think they will look okay together.
I have been spending all my free time trying to get this pair of socks done!! It is Taglioni by Jeannie Cartmel. I don't like to knit wrap and turn heels so I changed it and put in my own heel. I have to have this pair done by August 15th for Camp Loopy. I see many days of knitting myself silly. The yarn is Three Irish Girls in Strawberry Fields. Great yarn and I love this color. They will be cosy to wear this winter.
Time to get some more knitting done. I started the second sock last night.

FWQAL Week 6, Broken Week!!!!
Hello all from the land of the sideways rain! I have been having such a hard time with taking pictures because of the gloom!!!
This week for the Farmer's Wife Quilt-a-long I made blocks 11 and 12. Poor Farmer's wife, broken dishes, broken sugar bowls..
Block #11 is Broken Dishes
I think it was probably very sad for them when they broke a dish because it wasn't always easy to replace them. And this block was good for using up the small scraps of fabric.
#12 is Broken Sugar Bowl
I like this one. It was fun to sew. Plus I like the blue.
Little girl hands. When we moved into this house in 2003, I let my youngest daughter put her handprints on the wall behind the door. And sadly, I painted over them this week. She moved into a bigger bedroom at Christmas and I thought it was time that I fixed her old room up for guests. I painted it a creamy white called Malted Milk. I have been moving out some of the things that she didn't want to keep and am deciding what furniture to use in there.
My oldest daughter is here visiting so I don't know how much time I will get to work on projects. I don't get to see her very often so I try to spend as much time with her as possible.
